Wistful Jester, a 40 minute combined drawing in graphite and charcoal pencil on sketch paper - a collaboration piece created in George Porter's Intermediate Drawing Class - Student-Teacher work.
Anna Porter (student) - 5 minute gesture drawing to lay in the foundation: head and face shape, eye, nose and mouth placement;
George Porter (teacher) - 15 minute contour drawing to create outer and inner contour lines for hat, collar, hair, eyes, nose, mouth; plus light shading in the face and hat; and eye, nostril and lip details;
Anna Porter (student) - 20 minutes applying shading for shadows under the hat, in the hair and face, around the eyes, in the lips, around the nose, in the chin and collar; plus erasing for highlights in the cheeks, nose, lips, under the eyes, and in the chin and neck; and adding additional inner and outer contour lines in the hair.
