Drawing - Still Life Class by George Porter at Michael's

Start by learning basic drawing techniques, then move on to a still life drawing in this two hour class taught by fine artist George Porter at Michael's, 11719 NE Glenn Widing Dr, Portland, Oregon 97220-9051 on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 6:30P to 8:30P. With a lifetime of drawing and painting experience, George can teach you how to get the most out of your drawing tools very quickly.

"I attended George Porter's Introductory Drawing Class in January, 2017, and it was a wonderful refresher for me. After learning some new techniques that George explained and demonstrated very well, and doing some warm ups, I was able to complete a detailed still life study in the remaining class time. I highly recommend George Porter's Drawing - Still Life Class  for both beginning drawing students, as well as experienced fine artists wishing to learn new techniques to improve their drawing skills." ~ Anna Porter, Fine Artist

Advance registration and supplies required. Register online at Michael's Glenn Widing Store, or call (503) 256-5466 for information.

After the Masters: Light in the Landscape" is my humble effort to pay homage to some of the greatest artists and artworks of all time; painters and paintings that have had a profound effect on my appreciation of art and on my development as a fine artist. It is my hope that viewers will join me on a magical trip, as I travel back in time through the eyes of some of the world’s greatest painters, not simply to recreate and reinterpret their works, but to appreciate the beauty that was all around them in an earlier America, and to grasp the meaning of what they saw in the spectacular scenes that they rendered. I will also be debuting a selection of my own original paintings that have been strongly influenced by the luminist and impressionist styles of these great masters.”

"Stone Center Inc. is really excited to be extending its first fine art exhibit "After the Masters: Light in the Landscape" by George Porter Fine Art in our new gallery space at 1504 SE Woodward Street, Portland, Oregon 97202 through July 31, 2015! We hope everyone takes the opportunity to see these stunning landscape paintings by fine artist, George Porter in Stone Center Inc.'s SE Portland Showroom in the month of July. The artwork and the stonework compliment each other perfectly!"
~ Stone Center Inc.
“This art exhibit will appeal to everyone who appreciates fine art, beautiful stonework and master craftsmanship (and) anyone who is looking for something new and different, or for creative inspiration for a new project, or for a new painting to hang above their fireplace mantle. In particular, we hope that other Portland area artists who might be interested in a future art show at Stone Center, Inc. will attend the Opening Reception on May 1, 2015, or drop by the gallery May 1 - July 31, 2015, Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM, as this is a chance to see another artist’s work displayed in this unique venue, to view the space, to network within the art community, and to appreciate both traditional fine art and the “art” that is stone craftsmanship.”
~ Sarah Enriquez Wiley, Showroom Manager, Stone Center, Inc.
