White Rabbit

White Rabbit (Commissioned-SOLD) 36" X 48", an original acrylic painting by Lake Oswego fine artist George Porter appeared in the 2016 Fall Juried Show at Oregon Society of Artists.

White Rabbit is the artist's first allegory, a painting that explores modern sociological issues and stereotypes through classical literature. Drawing on C.S. Lewis's "Alice in Wonderland", the painting depicts a group of Hells Angels having a tea party that is about to be busted by the police in front of a building that displays two murals: one of the modern day Berlin Wall where the Dancing to Freedom banner is being sucked away by SWAT Team members. Read the full story in the artist's Fine Art Blog ...

Oceanside Beach Memories

Oceanside Beach Memories (Commissioned-SOLD) 20" X 30", acrylic on canvas, by George Porter Fine Art. This lovely sunset at Oceanside on the Oregon Coast was commissioned by an art collector and recently completed by Lake Oswego fine artist George Porter. In it, the artist uses dramatic colors, glowing light, and portraits of the collectors' parents to preserve happy family memories spent on the Oregon Coast.

Oceanside Beach Memories has been sold and is not available for purchase; however, the artist is accepting commissions for landscapes in impressionist and luminist styles. For more information or to commission a new painting, please contact George Porter.

Julia Backstage

Julia Backstage (Commissioned-SOLD), acrylic on canvas, 20" X 16", an Homage to Edgar Degas and Classical Ballet, by fine artist George Porter. In this beautiful painting, George Porter has  combined elements from two pastel masterpieces after Edgar Degas, using his same impressionist style, with modern images from classical ballet, to create a beautiful new acrylic painting that successfully blends old with new. Julia Backstage captures the feeling and softness of Edgar Degas pastels in a different medium (acrylic), and on a different substrate (canvas). Truly a masterpiece in its own right. Although the original painting has been sold, a fine art canvas print of Julia Backstage is available for purchase in the artist's online shop.

Dave's Wave

Dave's Wave (Commissioned-SOLD), 24" X 36", acrylic on canvas by George Porter, a commissioned painting for an art collector and dear friend in Ohio. It features a surfer's view of the Manhattan Beach Pier through the eye of a beautiful wave at sunrise on the coast of California, with Manhattan Beach, California and the Palos Verdes Peninsula in the background. There is an accurate view up Manhattan Beach Blvd., and the morning sunrise casts a warm luminist glow over the Pacific coast. A lone seagull flies out to sea. Painted in clear, vivid hues, the translucent golden yellows, aqua blues and greens of the large wave in the foreground, and the smaller ocean waves by the pier are truly beautiful. To commission a new painting, please contact the artist.

California Dreaming

California Dreaming (Commissioned-SOLD), acrylic on canvas, 36" X 48", an original acrylic painting by George Porter completed on commission for a client in Fort Mill, South Carolina in December 2015. This stunning seascape features the Huntington Beach Pier in Huntington Beach, California, a well-known and loved location by the client, where a lone surfer is catching a final wave at sunset, set against a blazing orange and yellow sky.

George is known for his signature "new age-traditional" style, a unique blend of master painter techniques that the artist has learned over the years, and contemporary themes. To commission a new painting, please contact George Porter.
