Andy in the Mountains after Albert Bierstadt

Fine artist George Porter created Andy in the Mountains as a study of Albert Bierstadt's famous In the Mountains. A gift for his daughter, it was painted in loving memory of Andy Andy Bo Bandy, her chestnut thoroughbred gelding and eventing champion, who died tragically on May 21, 2014. On the far shore you can see the artist's daughter on Andy watching, dressed for a dressage event, as Andy now leaves this world, galloping wild and free in the right foreground. Behind him, his grandfather, Seattle Slew, can be seen in the rocks watching over the newborn foal. Patiently waiting in the light-filled clouds above, a heavenly Andy waits for the artist's daughter who will always and forever be his "person".
